House Hunting

Katelyn got all decked out to go house hunting. Brent got all decked out too, only not in a smashing new outfit. If anyone saw us riding down the road Sunday, yes we had a handheld GPS fixed to the roof of the Yukon. Why, you ask, would we have a handheld GPS attached to the top of our vehicle? Well, we were house hunting. And when you're house hunting with Brent Gunn you don't just drive around aimlessly looking for FOR SALE signs. No sir! You have a plan!
So as I was getting Katelyn dressed in her house hunting outfit, Brent was amassing all of the data and technology that would be needed for the trip. So we left that Sunday to househunt with a piece of paper printed from the Excel Spreadsheet that contains all the possibilities for future Gunn homes. Now this is no ordinary spreadhseet. This spreadsheet links to each house's website and calculates the acreage and square footage of each house. While doing all of this, it also rates and ranks each house according to certain criteria. Along with the spreadsheet printout, we have a laptop that is connected to the GPS by a cable that runs through the sunroof. The laptop is armed with a map program, so that when connected to the GPS we can actually see ourselves driving down the little lines on the computer screen that represent roads. Not only can we see ourselves driving, but if we come across a house that is not on our spreadsheet, and therefore has not been researched, we can hop right on the internet and check it out thanks to the Cingular Wireless card that has been inserted into the computer! The only thing that would have made this trip better is if there had been a tiny black Yukon driving around the computer screen with a tiny blue speck on its roof.
In case anyone was wondering, this is why I married my husband. He somehow manages to make me laugh and impress me at the same time!

That is so funny! I can just imagine Brent "gearing" up for the trip. If I remember correctly, he sets up a pretty technical tailgate party too!

By the way, Katelyn is just too cute in her new outfit!
